Educational Justice has a clear and pressing purpose to end educational inequity by improving academic performance and providing a meaningful student leadership experience.
EJ’s board is always seeking high-caliber individuals who are deeply passionate about equity in education to join its team. Ideal candidates are excited to dedicate their time, talents, and resources to propel Educational Justice forward in its all-important mission.
EJ board members are expected to take on a number of key responsibilities and requirements:
- Ensure EJ’s continued progress toward its mission.
- Attend regular board meetings.
- Participate on at least one board committee.
- Develop, review and approve policies and budgets.
- Ensure the organization has adequate resources.
- Make a financial contribution according to one’s ability.
- Enhance EJ’s public image.
- Safeguard compliance with legal, ethical, and financial standards.
- Monitor and evaluate programs and services.
- Support the Executive Director and provide a performance review.
